    Original cover art for the Cambridge University student magazine for creative writing, ‘The Dial’. Showing the view towards the sundial erected in 1642 in the Old Court at Queen’s College, Cambridge. The dial is framed by an open arched window and in the foreground is a silhouetted figure of a student seen from behind, reading in an armchair.

    Maurice Stevenson Bartlett (1910–2002), statistician and probabilist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1961.
