Head and shoulders portrait of Charles Walmesley in left three-quarter profile as viewed. He wears mid length wig and is dressed in vestments with a cross around his neck and a book in his right hand. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘G. Keating Sc. The Ven. & Rt. Rd. CHARLES WALMESLEY, Lord Bishop of Rama, Vicar Apostolic of the Western District. O.S.B. D.D. of Sorbon. F.R.S. of London & Berlin, Ob. Nov. 25th 1797, AEt. 75. The 40th of his Episcopacy’ and pencilled ‘1750’ on the paper support.
Charles Walmesley was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1750.
