Description
Half-length portrait of James Ware in three quarter profile to the right as viewed. He wears short hair and is dressed in a double breasted coat with cravat. Draped fabric can be seen in the background of the portrait.
Inscribed on paper support ‘James Ware MD FRS’ and pencilled ‘1802’.
James Ware was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1802.
