Head and shoulders portrait of Richard Watson in three quarter profile to the right as viewed and looking out to viewer. He wears mid length wig with tricorne hat and is dressed in a double breasted jacket. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘European Magazine. Engraved by H.R.Cook from an original picture by Romney. Richard Watson Bishop of Landaff. Published by J. Asperne at the Bible, Crown & Constitution, March 30th 1810’ and pencilled ‘1769’.
Richard Watson was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1769.
