Half-length portrait of James Wilson in three-quarter profile to the right as viewed and looking back to viewer. He wears regency-style clothing of high collared jacket with shirt and cravat.
Inscribed ‘James Wilson FRS’ and pencilled ‘1803’.
James Wilson was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1803.
