Description
Half-length portrait of Christian Freiherr von Wolff, turned slightly to the left as viewed and looking back over to the right. He wears long wig and is dressed in fine clothes of jacket, embroidered waistcoat, and shirt. In a decorated rectangular frame on a pedestal bearing his name.
Inscribed ‘CHRISTIANUS WOLFIUS. Sysang Scsip 1737’ and pencilled ‘1710’.
Christian Freiherr von Wolff was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1710.
