    Description
    Head and shoulders portrait of Daniel Wray inclined slightly to the left as viewed and looking out to viewer. He wears mid-length wig and is dressed in jacket, overcoat, and neck bands. Oval in a rectangular frame.

    Inscribed on separate paper ‘Dance Pinxt. Jackson Delt. Meyer Sculpt. DANIEL WRAY, ESQR. M.A. F.R.S. & F.S.A. Born 1701; Died 1783. Copied from the portrait & Cameo at the Charter-house.’ Inscribed in ink ‘Dan Wray’ and pencilled ‘1728’ on paper support.

    Daniel Wray was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1729.
