Description
Half-length portrait of Arthur Young in three-quarter profile to the left as viewed. He wears mid-length wig and is dressed in high collared jacket, white shirt, and cravat.
Inscribed ‘Arthur Young Esq. F.R.S. Secretary to the HONBLE BOARD of AGRICULTURE.’ Pencilled ‘1774’ on paper support.
Arthur Young was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1774.
