    Description
    Anatomical studies of marine siphonophores. Figures 1-8 Chelophyes appendiculata (here described as Diphyes sieboldii). Figures 9-15 the sea-raft Velella velella (here described as Velella spirans). Each is colony of zooids, Velella with a characteristic ‘sail’. The plate has studies of the whole colonies at x4 and x3 magnifications (figures 1 and 9) with corresponding anatomical details (figures 2-8 and 10-15 respectively).
