Portrait of Francesco Algarotti in right profile, after a medallion with laurel sprig. On a pedestal with vignette of a pseudo-classical scene.
Inscribed ‘F. ALGAROTTI. J. W. Meil inve: et sc: Effigiern ad Viv: del:’ and pencilled Elected 1736. Algarotti 1. [anteuz ?] Meil’.
Francesco was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1736.
