Head and shoulders portrait of George Annesley, 2nd Earl of Mountnorris. He wears regency-style clothing of high collared shirt and jacket with waistcoat and cravat. In an octagonal frame.
Inscribed ‘Painted by Halls. Engraved by Freeman. The Rt. Honble Lord Valentia. Published by Vernor, Hood & Sharpe, Poultry, Feby. 1st 1810’ and pencilled ‘1796’.
George Annesley, 2nd Earl of Mountnorris was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1796, he was styled Viscount Valentia between 1793 -1816.
