Description
Head and shoulders portrait of John Aubrey in three quarter profile to the right as viewed and looking back to viewer. He wears shoulder length periwig and is dressed in coat with epaulettes, sash and lace collar.
Inscribed ‘ T. Cook Sculpt. JOHN AUBREY. Published 1812 by Wm. Richardson, York House, Strand’ and pencilled ‘1663.’
John Aubrey was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1663.
