Head and shoulders portrait of Joseph Banks in three quarter profile to the right as viewed. He wears wig and regency-style coat with waistcoat. In an oval frame.

Sir Joseph Banks was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1766 and was President from 1778 until 1820.
