    Half-length portrait of Charles Bell inclined to the left as viewed and looking out to viewer. He wears regency-style coat with high collared shirt and cravat. He wears the insignia of the Knight of Hanover.

    Inscribed in pencil ‘Sir C Bell. 1826’.

    Sir Charles Bell was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1826, he was awarded the Royal Medal in 1829 for his discoveries relating to the Nervous System.
