Head and shoulders portrait of James William Bellamy in three-quarter profile to the right as viewed. He wears cassock with bands.
Inscribed ‘J. Irvine pinx. E. Scriven sculpt. THE REVD. JAMES WM. BELLAMY, B.D. HEAD MASTER of Merchant Taylors’ School. Elected April 6. 1819’ and pencilled ‘1834’.
James William Bellamy was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1834.
