Head and shoulders portrait of Jons Jakob Berzelius in three-quarter profile to the left as viewed and looking out to viewer. He wears regency-style jacket with shirt and cravat.
Inscribed ‘BERZELIUS, J.C.D.D.D.S.M. CLF Panckouck Editeur’ and pencilled ‘1813’.
Jons Jakob Berzelius was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1813, he was awarded the Copley Medal in 1836.
