    Head and shoulders portrait of Henri Marie Ducrotay de Blainville in three-quarter profile to the left as viewed. He wears jacket with waistcoat and dark cravat.

    Inscribed ‘Paris, Rosselin édit Quai Voltaire, 21. Paris, Lith. Auguste Bry r. du Bac. Blainville (Ducrotey de) Nè à Acques an 1778, mo.ch à Paris le 1er Mai 1850’ with facsimile signature and pencilled ‘1832’.

    Henri Marie Ducrotay de Blainville was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1832.
