Inscribed ‘Engraved by E. Scriven BRADLEY. From the original Picture by Richardson in the possession of the Royal Society’ and pencilled ‘1718’.
This portrait if after a painting by Thomas Hudson, not Richardson as indicated in the inscription.
James Bradley was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1718.
