Description
Head and shoulders portrait of Edward Brown inclined to the left as viewed. He wears long curled hair with a fringe and is dressed in tight fitting jacket with cape and lace cravat.
Inscribed ‘Harding sc. EDWD. BROWN M.D. F.R.S. in the Collection of the Earl of Buchan, and pencilled ‘1667’.
Edward Brown was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1668.
