    Head and shoulders portrait of Thomas Bugge in left profile. He wears wig tied at the back and is dressing in high collared jacket with shirt and cravat. In an oval frame.

    Inscribed ‘C Westermayr fecit. THOMAS BUGGE Kön: Dän: first: Rath, Professor d. Mathematick u Astronomic an der K. Universität zu Kopenhagen, und bey der Königl. Marine. Mitglied mehrerer Akadem. D. Wissenschaften’ and pencilled ‘1788’.

    Thomas Bugge was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1788.
