Description
Head and shoulders portrait of Herman Boerhaave in three-quarter profile to the right as viewed and looking back to viewer. He wears gown with falling collar.
Inscribed of separate paper ‘HERMAN BOERHAAVE, M.D. F.R.S.’ and pencilled ‘1730 Boerhave’ on paper support.
Herman Boerhaave was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1730.
