    Taken during John Cornforth’s five-week Selby travelling fellowship at the invitation of the Australian Academy of Science in 1977.

    Inscribed on the reverse ‘With Prof. R.L Martin, Vice Chancellor, Monash Univ. Melbourne. Dec 1977’ and stamped ‘The Sun NEWS-PICTORIAL MELBOURNE’.

    Raymond Leslie Martin (1926) is an Australian chemistry professor and Chancellor of Monash University.

    John Warcup Cornforth (1917-2013) was an Australian chemist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1953.

    Rita Harriet Cornforth (1915-2012) was an Australian organic chemist.
