    John Warcup Cornforth (1917-2013) was an Australian chemist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1953. He was awarded the Chemical Society Award in 1978.

    Alan Woodworth Johnson (1917-1982) was a British chemist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1965 and was Vice President from 1981-1982.
