John Warcup Cornforth (1917-2013) was an Australian chemist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1953. He was awarded the Prix Roussel (Roussel Prize) in 1972 for his work on the enzymes of cholesterol biosynthesis.
Sir Derek Harold Richard Barton (8 Sep 1918-16 Mar 1998) was a British organic chemist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1954, he served on the council from 1964-1966.
