    John Walter Atherton Hussey (1909-1985) was a British clergyman, he was dean of Chichester and patron of the arts.

    Norman Rene Del Mar (1919-1994) was a British conductor and composer.

    Rita Harriet Cornforth (1915-2012) was an Australian organic chemist.

    Hilary Somerville, (ca. 1925- 2016) was a British councillor and Mayor of Brighton.

    Hartley Williams Shawcross (1902-2003) was a British barrister and politician. He was one of the founding fathers of the University of Sussex and the longest serving Chancellor.

    Denys Wilkinson (1922-2016) was a British nuclear physicist and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sussex.

    Dame Ruth Buckley (1898-1986) was a British civil servant.
