    Sir Alan Lloyd Hodgkin (1914-1998) was a British neurophysiologist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1948 and served as President from 1970-1975.

    Piotr Leonidovich Kapitza (1894-1984) was a Russian physicist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1929.

    Sir David Christie Martin (1914-1976), was a British scientific administrator, he was Executive Secretary of the Royal Society from 1947-1976.
