Half-length group portrait taken at a meeting on the occasion the Royal Society’s visited the USSR Academy of Sciences, October 1965. Including Mstislav Keldysh across the table from Arnold Miles, Howard Florey and David Martin.
Mstislav Keldysh (1911-1978) was a Russian mathematician, he was President of the USSR Academy of Sciences from 1961-1975.
Arnold Ashley Miles (1904-1988) was a British microbiologist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1961 and was on the Council from 1963-1968.
Howard Walter Florey (1898-1968) was an Australian pathologist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1941 and served as President from 1960-1965.
Sir David Christie Martin (1914-1976), was a British scientific administrator, he was Executive Secretary of the Royal Society from 1947-1976.
