Description
Half-length group portrait of Geoffrey Feilden, David Martin and Ashley Miles taken at the Exhibition for Economic Achievements (Vystavka dostizheni narodnogo khoziaistva, VDNKh), Moscow. Looking at an exhibit of a spaceman with a model of the Vostok spacecraft in the background. Taken on the occasion the Royal Society visited the USSR Academy of Sciences, October 1965.
Geoffrey Bertram Robert Feilden (1917-2004) was a British engineer, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1959 and served on the council in the 1960s.
Sir David Christie Martin (1914-1976), was a British scientific administrator, he was Executive Secretary of the Royal Society from 1947-1976.
Arnold Ashley Miles (1904-1988) was a British microbiologist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1961 and was on the Council from 1963-1968.
