Description
Half-length portrait of Carl Linnaeus turned towards the left, as viewed, within an oval frame. He is shown in a brown jacket and silk cravat with his crest of the Order of the Polar Star attached to his left lapel. Colour aquatint after an oil painting by Alexander Roslin now in the collection of the National Museum, Sweden.
Inscribed below: ‘gravé par P.I.A i.x. 1792’
