Description
Half-length portrait of Howard Florey giving a decorative glass plate to Mstislav Keldysh. Taken on the occasion the Royal Society visited the USSR Academy of Sciences, members of the delegation including Nikolay Semyonov behind, October 1965.
Howard Walter Florey (1898-1968) was an Australian pathologist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1941 and served as President from 1960-1965.
Mstislav Keldysh (1911-1978) was a Russian mathematician, he was President of the USSR Academy of Sciences from 1961-1975.
Nikolay Nikolayevich Semyonov (Semenov) (1896-1986) was a Russian physicist and chemist, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1958.
