Description
Zoological and anatomical studies of the European Water vole, Arvicola amphibious. Figure 1 (above) shows a side view of the mammal in a natural landscape, near water and reeds. Figure 2 (below) shows the skeletal structure of the vole, presented on a plinth.

Louis Jean Marie Daubenton (1716-1800), French naturalist and encyclopaedist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1755.
