Description
Half-length portrait of Henry Card seated and inclined to the left and looking out to viewer, he holds a book in right hand. He wears regency-style jacket with waistcoat, shirt and cravat.
Inscribed ‘Harding pinx Ridley sc Henry Card Esqr. Pub. By Vernor & Hood, Poultry, Octr. 31, 1804’ and pencilled ‘1820’.
Henry Card was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1820.
