Head and shoulders portrait of Edmund Cartwright in three-quarter profile to the left as viewed. He wears regency-style jacket with cravat. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘Engraved by Atkinson from an Original Picture. E. CARTWRIGHT, A.M. Prebendary of Lincoln’ and pencilled ‘1716’.
Edmund Cartwright was Canon of Chicester and antiquary; he was not a Fellow of the Royal Society.
