Inscribed ‘Orme Junr Sculpt. The Marquis of Salisbury. Published by E Orme, Printseller & Picture Frame Maker, 25 Conduit Street, August 1. 1796’ and pencilled ‘1784’.
James Cecil, 7th Ealr and 1st Marquess of Salisbury was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1784.
