    Head and shoulders portrait of James Cecil, 7th Earl and 1st Marquess of Salisbury inclined to the left as viewed and looking off to distance.

    Inscribed ‘Orme Junr Sculpt. The Marquis of Salisbury. Published by E Orme, Printseller & Picture Frame Maker, 25 Conduit Street, August 1. 1796’ and pencilled ‘1784’.

    James Cecil, 7th Ealr and 1st Marquess of Salisbury was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1784.
