Description
Head and shoulders portrait of Charles Chauncy in three-quarter profile to the left and looking back to viewer. He wears shoulder length wig and is dressed in collarless jacket with waistcoat, shirt and cravat. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘Charles Chauncy MD FRS’ and pencilled ‘1740’.
Charles Chauncy was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1741.
