Head and shoulders portrait of George Cockburn facing forward and looking off to the right as viewed. He wears naval uniform of double breasted jacket with epaulettes and braid detail, and a bicorn hat with ribbon.
Inscribed ‘THE LATE ADMIRAL SIR GEORGE COCKBURN., BART., G.C.B.’
Sir George Cockburn was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1820.
