Inscribed ‘THE LATE MR.BRANSBY COOPER, F.R.S. FROM A PHOTOGRAPH BY MAYALL.’ Lower centre and pencilled ‘1829’ on paper support.
Bransby Blake Cooper (1792-1853) was a British surgeon, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1829.
