Half-length portrait of John Cullum, in three-quarter profile to the right and looking back to viewer. He wears short wig with cassock and bands and holds a book open with both hands.
Inscribed ‘Angelica Kauffman pinxt 1778. Js. Basire sculpt.
John Cullum (1733-1785) was a British clergyman, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1775.
