Three-quarter length portrait of Sir Anthony Carlisle standing in three quarter profile to the left and next to a desk with manuscript, inkwell and skull. An anatomical depiction of a man in background, left hand side as viewed.

Inscribed ‘SIR ANTHONY CARLISLE, F.R.S. President of the Royal College of Surgeons’ with facsimile signature and ‘1804 Sir Anthony Carlisle FRS’ on paper support.

Sir Anthony Carlisle was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1804.
