Head and shoulders portrait of Joseph Constantine Carpue turned to the right and looking back to viewer. He wears regency-style coat with ruffled shirt and cravat. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘I.C.CARPUE ESQ’ and pencilled ‘MD 1817’.
Joseph Constantine Carpue was a British surgeon, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1817.
