Half-length portrait of Charles Lock Eastlake standing in three-quarter profile to the left as viewed and looking to viewer. He wears regency-style clothing of a coat with deep collar and tails, waistcoat and high-collared shirt with cravat.
Facsimile signature lower centre and inscribed ‘ENGRAVED BY J. SMYTH FROM A DRAWING BY T. BRIDGEFORD.’
Sir Charles Lock Eastlake (1793-1865) was a British historical painter and President of the Royal Academy of Arts, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1838.
