    Head and shoulders portrait of Jean Baptiste Jacques Elie de Beaumont in three-quarter profile to the left as viewed, he wears buckled wig and is dressed in cassock and bands.

    Inscribed ‘ELIE DE BEAUMONT (JEAN BAPTISTE JACQUES) AVOCAT AU PARLEMENT DE PARIS. Né à Carentan en 1732 + à Paris en 1786. VIGNERES, Edr. 4 Rue du Carrousel, Paris.’

    Jean Baptiste Jacques Elie de Beaumont (1732-1789) was a French lawyer, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1765.
