    Head and shoulders portrait of John Evelyn in three quarter profile to the left as viewed, he wears cape with falling collar. In an oval frame.

    Inscribed on paper support ‘JOHN EVELN ESQ. F.R.S.’ and pencilled ‘e 1663’.

    John Evelyn was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1663.
