    Description
    Half-length portrait of Dmitry Golitsyn in military uniform with a collection of medals prominently displayed on his jacket. He is wrapped in a fur-trimmed coat and shown against the background of a clouded sky. Engraved after an oil painting by George Dawe now in the Hermitage Museum.

    Prince Dmitry Vladimirovich Golitsyn (1771-1844), Russian military general, was not a Fellow of the Royal Society.

    His descendant Prince Boris Borisovich Golitsyn (1862-1916), Russian physicist, was elected a Foreign Member of the Royal Society in 1916.
