Bust of Alfred Fernandez Yarrow, head and partial shoulders, facing forwards. Yarrow is shown in old age with mutton chops and moustache.
On a square metal pedestal inscribed ‘ALFRED YARROW.’
Sir Alfred Fernandez Yarrow (1842-1932), British marine engineer, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1922.

Acquisition planning is recorded in the Officers Minutes of the Royal Society, 2 July 1931 [OM/2/2/24]: ‘Yarrow Bust, agreed that Sir Frank Smith to write to Sir Alfred Yarrow on the subject of the bust [by Sara Bonzaris] of him, at present on view at the French Galleries in Bond Street.’ 2 July 1931.
