    Head of Baron Zuckerman of Burnham Thorpe.

    Attached sticker inscribed: 'Bust of Lord Zuckerman OM KCB FRS by Elisabeth Frink Gift from Lady Zuckerman 1998'. Artist signature on the right hand side as viewed ‘Frink AC.’

    Baron Zuckerman of Burnham Thorpe (1904- 1993), British zoololgist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1943.

    Gifted by Lady Zuckerman in 1998.

    The donation is recorded in the Royal Society Minutes of Council, 30 November 1998 [CMO/83]: 'Reported that a bronze head or Lord Zuckerman had been presented to the Society by Lady Zuckerman...The President had conveyed the thanks of the Society to Lady Zuckerman.'

    Cast and copies: The Elizabeth Frink Estate website indicates the portrait was originally commissioned by the Zoological Society of London in 1979 and is part of an edition of three.
