    Half-length portrait of William Hyde Wollaston, seated and turned to the left as viewed, looking back at viewer. He holds paper in left hand and wears a double breasted jacket with a high collar and cravat.

    Inscribed ‘Engraved by W. Holl. J.H. WOLLASTON. From the original picture by J Jackson in the possession of the Royal Society. Under the Superintendence of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge.

    William Hyde Wollaston was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1793, he was President from June 1820 to November 1820, Secretary from 1804 to 1816 and Vice President from 1820 to 1828.
