    Half-length portrait of Augustus Henry Fitzroy, 3rd Duke of Grafton, turned to the right and looking back to viewer, situated in a landscape with hills and flora. He wears a fine jacket with braid detailing and epaulettes and stands with his right hand tucked into his left lapel. Oval in a rectangular frame.

    Inscribed ‘P. Battoni. pinxt. J. Cook, sc. Augustus Henry, THIRD DUKE OF GRAFTON. London. Published by Richard Bentley, 1845’ and pencilled ‘not FRS.’

    Augustus Henry Fitzroy, 3rd Duke of Grafton (1735-1811) British statesman and Prime Minister, he was not a Fellow of the Royal Society.
