Description
Head and shoulders portrait of John Flamsteed, turned to the left and looking back to viewer. He wears a black robe with white, squared collar.
Inscribed ‘JOHN FLAMSTEED. Astronomer Royal.’ And pencilled ‘1676’.
John Flamsteed was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1677.
