Head and shoulders portrait of Benjamin Franklin seated in three-quarter profile to the right as viewed. He wears a fur hat and round spectacles.

Inscribed ‘Doctor Franklin, London: Published by William Cole. 10 Newgate Street. JANY 1825.’

Benjamin Franklin was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1756.
